Club Forum – 10 Nov 2010

A productive Forum was hosted by President Kim. Issues raised by the members were:
• Consider providing containers/buckets in businesses cafes etc requesting coin donations for Rotary Projects. This was suggested by visiting Rotarian Wendy McKay from the Darwin NT Sunrise Club. Apparently this works well in Darwin.
• PE Jean Tait asked that anyone interested in serving on club committees next year to see her.
• Club should follow up on taking over the old APEX Wishing well located near the Fremantle station.
• Provide a Food basket for raffle at the Xmas BBQ.
• That we no longer sing Advance Australia Fair at the close of normal meetings. Only sing it at special meetings.
• Follow up the offer made by Andrew Smith to promote Rotary in the Herald
• Continue to work on membership and develop strategies to try and recruit younger members. This could be by encouraging them to become friends of rotary first. Be flexible eg maybe one formal meeting per month, other meetings less formal and cheaper for members.
• Look at ways at various ways of promoting rotary eg Web, on radio, at schools Chamber of commerce, Notre Dame etc that
The president thanked members for their input anf advised that he would refer all the suggestions to the board for consideration.
